Thanks on behalf of the Committee to everyone who attended the Awards Evening and congratulations to all the awards winners (listed below). Special thanks to British Olympic 10,000m athlete Kate Reed, a member of Bristol A.C. who gave an inspiring speech and presented the awards. Thanks also to Ann and Emily Beacham who have produced the excellent spread to go with the pig roast, and to Ann again who together with Roger Beacham and Ken & Sheila Williams have put a lot of effort into setting up and decorating the room for tonight. Thanks to John Dineen’s brother-in-law Ben Hembry for taking photos of all the awards winners and to John for the other photos and for displaying them in an on-line gallery, to Yasmine for her excellent photo board (including the Gok Wan Memorial Award for the Most Dishevelled Relay Team) and to Phil for the B&R calendar that was auctioned. Well done to Len for being such a good host too!

During the last year the Club has run smoothly thanks to the efforts of the Club Committee, coaches, team managers and others and club chairman Len Quartly expressed all our appreciation for their time, commitment and support. Len thanked everyone for taking part throughout the year and for being a member of B&RAC whether or not they had won an event or an award.  He asked that any parents who are able to help particularly in a coaching role, even in a small way, should contact him.

Daisy Johnson won both the Track and Field Awards for under 15 girls in 2008

Above: Daisy Johnson won two U15 Girl’s Awards – both the Track and the Field prizes.
