Beacon 10k

As I can't run at Stourport next week I went to Gloucestershire to the Beacon 10k which was based at Haresfield just off the M5 at J12. The event was organised by the Angels Running Club which is a local all female club.

There was a field of about 120 and the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming. The course was mainly along very pretty country lanes with just two reasonable climbs in the first 2k. Marshalling and signs were excellent.

I went with the intention of trying to get under 40 mins for the first time in 4 years and despite a drag of a last kilometer I finished in 39.54 to be first V55. The first V60 was 17 seconds in front!

Overall it was a really enjoyable event and one to bear in mind for next year.
