Wheaton Aston 10k Road Race

A full field of 361 runners ran off their Christmas lethargy in the south Staffordshire countryside at the Wheaton Aston 10k on 27th December. Conditons were good for racing being mild and dry and the strong breeze was more a help than a hindrance.

Pete Hawcroft ran his best 10k for some years and was second V55 in 40.54. Eamon Thompson ran a great PB of 45.49 taking 3 minutes off his time from last year.

 Roger Beacham 'encouraged' his grandaughter Sarah in her first race and they finished together in 1.01.37
